Understanding usual Care

We already know that the care received by people with severe obesity varies considerably across different Tier 3 services. A subgroup of the team is currently researching what treatments Tier 3 patients usually receive. This involves reviewing programme materials from different Tier 3 services and “mapping” these according to their behaviour change content. This work is important because it will allow us to understand how similar or different the core content of usual care is across services. Ultimately, it will help us understand the impact that the PROGROUP intervention might have on health outcomes.
